Lets Get Along For Cooling!
Just assume! Earth’s atmosphere is boiling up like lava of volcanoes. Isn’t it horrible to visualize. But believe it or not, this could happen in not so distant future. It could happen that there’ll be no twenty second century. ‘Global warming’ is the most significant concern since few years among all the countries. The ‘only essential issue’, for which all the countries are unanimously coming forward to sort out with all the potential is, global warming.
There are three Cs that should be considered in this topic: Causes, Consequences & Conclusion. Earth is already showing many signs of climate change. Average temperature has climbed 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit (0.8 degree Celsius) around the world since 1880. The last two decades has been the hottest in past 400 years. The Arctic region is the most influenced region as the ice there is rapidly disappearing & is expected to be ice-free by the summer of 2040. Glaciers & mountains snows are rapidly melting. Montana’s Glacier National Park now has only 27 glaciers left, which were 150 in 1910. Well, these are the most affected areas.
A report of 2,500 scientists in more than 130 countries conclude that human beings have caused all or most of the current planetary warming. Industrialization, pollution & deforestation have greatly intended atmospheric concentrations of water vapour, carbon dioxide, methane & nitrous oxide. These all are green house gases that help trap heat near Earth’s surface. These gases persist in the atmosphere for years, meaning that even if such emissions were eliminated, then also it wouldn’t have immediately stopped global warming.
There is a minority group of scientists, who believe that earth warming is partly caused by solar flares, which occur more often now and make earths’ unpredictable weather even more volatile. As a consequence, some parts of the planet earth (such as Northern parts of India) are predicted to get colder whereas other parts of it (such as Western parts of Canada and Greenland) are expected to get warmer. Now, lets have a look on its consequences. A report released by IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) in April 2007 warned that global warming could lead to large scale food & water shortages, & have catastrophic effects on wildlife. Sea levels could rise between 7 & 23 inches by this century’s end. Wherein, a rise of just 4 inches could flood many South Seas islands & swamp large parts of Southeast Asia. Glaciers around the world could melt. Strong hurricanes, droughts, heat waves, wildfires & other natural disasters could become common around the world. The ocean’s circulation system could be permanently altered. Rising temperature could release additional green house gases by unlocking methane in permafrost & undersea deposits, freeing carbon trapped in sea ice & causing increased evaporation of water.
Now a days, there are many companies taking part in this solemn subject. For example, Nokia is asking people to donate phones to get recycled & in return, they are cultivating new plants. Likewise, HP, Wipro, IBM, Intel, Twitter, Vodafone etc. are also commencing recycling & initiating green steps. There are companies like Attero, Trishyiraya Recycling, Eco Recycling etc, whose objectives are especially concerned with recycling of e-waste.
So, to stop global warming is quite difficult. But to get control over the speed of global warming is surely in our hands. There are few possible things that would help to get hold on such emissions at approximately current levels for the next 50 years. These possibilities include improvements to energy efficiency & vehicle fuel economy (so less energy has to be produced), & increase in wind & solar power, hydrogen produced from renewable resources, biofuels (produced from crops), natural gas & nuclear power. There is also a potential to capture the carbon dioxide emitted from fossil fuels & store it underground, a process called as ‘carbon sequestration’. Plants & trees absorb carbon dioxide as they grow, thus sequestering carbon naturally. Even a common man who thinks “what can I do?” can do a lot. One can take initiative in the steps taken by others. One can stop deforestation & plant more & more trees. One can bring awareness among ignorants. So lets get along for this severe concern & lets get hold over this obstinate warming. TOGETHER WE CAN DO THIS …………. There is no point in saying “WE WILL….!” As the situation is so desperate that whether we like it or no “WE HAVE TO…… & HAVE TO DO IT NOW …….OR THERE WILL BE NO DAWN TOMORROW”.

You rocks Akanksha. The valuable articles. Thanks.
Nice i like the way writer had studied the precious information & not just convey the msg SAVE the world like most of the online writers “cause, effect and precaution all in one……..” never notice “GW” will change our life so early….. its GO GREEN for me now onward……..
Ohh finally I got one well researched article. Nice work gal :)
I hope that With help of your NGO, you can spread awareness about Global warming.
I hope people will learn and care for it. Very well presented Akanksha!!! Very nice.
Nice work gal…well presented!!!! ;)
Thanks for taking the time to discuss this, I feel strongly about it and love learning more on this topic. If possible, as you gain expertise, would you mind updating your blog with more information? It is extremely helpful for me.
